Abstract

The article explores the role of the Bushido code as a philosophical and ethical tool for shaping corporate culture and professional values in the international hotel industry. It explores the essence of the Bushido code, its historical and philosophical foundations, and key values –honor, discipline, loyalty, responsibility, and service – as well as their significance for modern human resources management in the hospitality industry. Particular attention is paid to analyzing how Bushido principles can be adapted to the global hotel industry and integrated into corporate culture and service standards.

The study examines practical examples of the application of value-based approaches, consistent with the Bushido philosophy, in the operations of international hotel chains, including The «Ritz-Carlton», «Marriott International», «Hoshino Resorts», and «Okura Hotels & Resorts». It is shown that a focus on discipline, respect for guests, professional dedication, and high ethical responsibility among staff contributes to improved service quality, stronger corporate loyalty, and the development of a sustainable hotel brand image in the international market. It is noted that such approaches have a positive impact on employee motivation, reduce turnover, and create an atmosphere of trust and professional pride in belonging to the company.

Based on an analysis of theoretical concepts and practical experience, recommendations are proposed for implementing Bushido principles into the HR strategy of hotel companies, including training systems, mentoring, leadership development, and corporate standards of conduct. These recommendations are aimed at developing responsible professional behavior among staff, strengthening corporate identity, and enhancing the competitiveness of hotel companies in a highly competitive international environment. In conclusion, the need for a comprehensive and adaptive approach to implementing Bushido philosophy in the international hotel industry, taking into account the cultural diversity of staff and guests, is emphasized. Promising areas for further research have been identified, including the development of methods for assessing the effectiveness of implementing Bushido value principles, as well as an analysis of the possibilities for integrating them into the strategic management and sustainable development of hotel brands.
