THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS FOR THE FORMATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MECHANISM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ENTERPRISE’S ECONOMIC POTENTIAL

Abstract

The article investigates and substantiates the theoretical and methodological foundations for the formation and implementation of the mechanism for the development of an enterprise’s economic potential under conditions of an unstable external environment and increasing competitive pressure. Scientific approaches to the interpretation of the enterprise’s economic potential are generalized, and the expediency of considering it as a multidimensional, dynamic, and adaptive system integrated into the overall enterprise management system is justified. Research gaps related to the fragmentation of approaches to the development of economic potential and insufficient consideration of its cyclical nature are identified.

The author’s definition of the mechanism for the development of an enterprise’s economic potential is proposed as an integral, multi-level system of coordinated managerial actions, tools, and methods aimed at the gradual accumulation and qualitative transformation of the enterprise’s economic capabilities, taking into account environmental changes and strategic development goals. The structure of the mechanism for the development of economic potential is formed, including its goals, principles, functions, tools, and implementation outcomes.

The expediency of applying a cyclical model of the mechanism for the development of economic potential is substantiated, as it ensures the continuity, adaptability, and consistency of managerial decisions. An algorithm for implementing the cyclical model is developed, and a methodological toolkit for assessing the development of economic potential based on an integral indicator is proposed. This approach enables dynamic and comparative analysis, the results of which serve as a basis for managerial decision-making.
