Abstract

This article examines the theoretical foundations of digital resilience in hospitality enterprises amid socio-economic turbulence. It systematizes academic approaches to interpreting the concept and identifies the individual-psychological, managerial-economic, and macroeconomic levels of analysis. At the individual level, digital resilience is viewed as a set of personality traits (awareness, skills, adaptability, and confidence); at the enterprise level, it combines technical, operational, and economic components; at the macro level, it is an integral characteristic of complex systems. It has been found that most existing definitions are oriented toward a stable environment and do not account for specific factors of turbulence, such as physical destruction of infrastructure, mass migration, cyberattacks, and energy instability. The necessity of adapting the concept to the realities of an unstable environment has been substantiated, taking into account the sector-specific characteristics of hospitality enterprises, which perform social and security functions (shelter, humanitarian hub, temporary accommodation) in crisis conditions. The authors propose a definition of digital resilience for hospitality enterprises as the integrated capacity to ensure uninterrupted operations, adaptation, balanced development and rapid recovery following crisis impacts; this is achieved through the strategic use of digital technologies and the development of human potential, and encompasses technical security, operational efficiency, financial stability, business process automation, as well as individual competencies, staff psychological readiness, social interaction and adaptability to change, which together create the foundation for long-term development in conditions of socio-economic turbulence. The findings of the study provide a theoretical basis for further empirical research into the digital resilience of hospitality enterprises, the development of methodological approaches to its assessment, and the formulation of practical recommendations for enhancing it in times of turbulence.
