Abstract

The article explores modern approaches to organizational development of enterprises in the context of increasing volatility of the business environment, intensifying competition, and the growing need for continuous adaptation to external challenges. It is substantiated that organizational development serves as one of the key instruments for ensuring long-term sustainability, efficiency, and competitiveness of enterprises. The study analyzes the evolution of organizational development models, ranging from classical change management approaches to contemporary concepts of flexible, innovative, and decentralized management.

The paper systematizes the main models of organizational development and identifies their key characteristics, advantages, and limitations, taking into account the possibilities of their practical application. Special attention is paid to the role of organizational culture, the level of managerial and organizational maturity, and employees’ readiness for change in ensuring the effectiveness of transformation processes. It is demonstrated that active employee involvement, the development of teamwork, and the formation of a shared vision of change significantly enhance the success of organizational development initiatives.

The study proves that none of the existing organizational development models can be considered universal, as their effectiveness largely depends on industry-specific conditions, enterprise size, strategic objectives, and the external environment. In this regard, the expediency of combining classical and modern organizational development models is substantiated in order to increase enterprises’ adaptability to change.

The practical significance of the research lies in the possibility of using the obtained results by managers and practitioners when selecting and implementing organizational development models, as well as in designing an effective change management system aimed at ensuring sustainable development and strengthening the competitive position of enterprises.
