The article is dedicated to studying the impact of globalization processes on the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in international business. In the context of rapid changes resulting from globalization, SMEs face both new opportunities and significant challenges related to adapting to the global market. Globalization promotes the opening of new sales markets, access to modern technologies and resources, but at the same time generates a high level of competition from large multinational corporations. The article examines the main aspects of globalization, including economic, technological, social, and political changes that determine the conditions for SME development on the international stage. Specifically, the factors contributing to the enhanced competitiveness of small enterprises are analyzed, such as innovation, the introduction of new technologies, market diversification, and the integration of sustainable development principles and social responsibility into the company's strategies. Moreover, the article discusses the challenges SMEs face, including regulatory changes, political and economic risks, product quality requirements, and compliance with international standards. The article also provides recommendations on strategies for SMEs to adapt to the globalized environment, including building effective partnerships, using digital platforms, and being flexible in responding to changes in external conditions. Special attention is paid to the role of managerial competencies and strategic planning in improving the international performance of SMEs. The methodological approach of the study is based on the analysis of current academic literature and practical cases of SME internationalization. It is emphasized that a comprehensive and proactive approach to globalization enables SMEs to reduce risks and enhance long-term competitiveness. It is highlighted how the proper use of globalization opportunities can significantly strengthen SMEs' positions in international markets and ensure sustainable growth in the face of global competition.
