Author Guidelines

The Editorial Office accepts manuscripts in electronic form via the journal website, with duplicate submission sent to the email address dsim@khmnu.edu.ua.

Author information and a signed author statement must be attached to the manuscript.

The decision on the possibility of acceptance for publication is made based on the results of the peer-review process.

Manuscript Parameters

  • Languages of the manuscript: Ukrainian, English.
  • Number of co-authors: no more than three.
  • Length of the manuscript:
    • at least 6 pages of full text per one author;
    • at least 8 pages for two authors;
    • at least 9 pages for three authors;
    • but not more than 20 pages, including figures and tables.
  • Page format: A4 (210 × 297 mm).
  • Page orientation: portrait.
  • Margins: left – 2.5 cm; right – 1.5 cm; top – 2 cm; bottom – 2 cm.
  • Main text font: Times New Roman, 12 pt; line spacing – 1.00.
    It should be taken into account that certain document elements (abstract, keywords, section titles, captions of tables and figures, etc.) have different formatting parameters.
  • The manuscript must be prepared using Microsoft Word for Windows® as a single file in DOC or DOCX format without macros.
  • Figures, photographs, and graphs should be inserted into the text of the article as objects with the position set to “in line with text.”
  • For formulas, use the built-in Microsoft Equation editor or MathType.
  • Physical quantities must be presented in SI units.
  • Tables must not be split across multiple pages.
  • The abstract must be extended (at least 1,800 characters including spaces).

References Requirements

Cited sources must be numbered according to the order in which they are mentioned in the text. References to sources should be indicated in square brackets. The bibliographic description must be formatted in accordance with APA.

The number of self-citations must not exceed 20%.

Article Structure

The article material must be structured. The titles and number of sections are determined by the author; however, the following sections are mandatory:

  • Introduction
  • Section(s) describing the research and its results (there may be several)
  • Conclusions

The structure of the article should include the following components:

  • statement of the problem in a general form and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks;
  • analysis of recent research or publications in which the solution to the problem has been initiated and on which the author relies;
  • identification of previously unresolved parts of the general problem addressed in the article;
  • formulation of the objectives of the article (task setting);
  • presentation of the main research material with full justification of the obtained scientific results;
  • conclusions from the research and prospects for further studies in this field.

Mandatory Elements of the Manuscript

The manuscript must structurally include the following components:

  • UDC index (upper left corner of the page) – font size 12 pt;
  • JEL classification (upper left corner of the page) – font size 12 pt;
  • DOI placeholder (assigned by the editorial office after publication) – font size 12 pt;
  • Full names of all authors (no more than 3 persons) – font size 12 pt, uppercase, bold;
  • Academic degree, academic title, position – font size 12 pt;
  • Name of the institution where the authors work – font size 12 pt;
  • ORCID ID – font size 12 pt;
  • E-mail – font size 12 pt;
  • Title of the article (up to 10 words) – font size 14 pt, uppercase, bold, spacing before and after – 12 pt;
  • Abstract: at least 1,800 characters using standard scientific terminology – font size 10 pt, italic, spacing after – 6 pt;
  • Keywords: at least 5 words/phrases;
  • Information specified in items 4–11 in the alternative language of the article;
  • Main text of the article – font size 12 pt;
  • Literature – font size 10 pt, spacing after – 6 pt;
  • References – font size 10 pt.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
